International Women Speaking Out in Bangkok

9th Annual Women’s Leadership & Empowerment Conference

March 1-3, Bangkok, Thailand

We flew in from Australia, Kenya, Oman, Iran, Malaysia, Germany, Belgium, China, Philippines, Japan, United States, Rwanda and India, to name a few, to share our voices and messages.

I was particularly awed by:

  • Research and discussions that centered on unique historical, cultural and societal journeys of women to their present-day aspirations.
  • The honest, open and untainted spotlight on the socio-economic perspectives of a wide range of global women.
  • The enthusiastic embrace of my presentation: ‘A View From The Peak: How Confident Women Leaders Can Navigate Others Through Change’.

Collectively, our eyes were opened to issues that are still very raw and delicate for many women in the world. We acknowledged ‘equality’ as a broad term that globally has many angles, significance and meaning that we don’t consider. When we dig deeper and speak with each other on a local or international platform we have a number of responses: We are numbed, humbled, delighted, saddened, educated and enlightened by what we hear. Perhaps one of the most appreciated aspects of this conference is the intention of the organizers, Tomorrow People, to create ‘a safe, intimate, networking environment’ that allows a wide range of topics from a variety of presenters with compelling agendas.

Just when you think you’ve heard it all – you hear from a woman who reminds you that you have no idea. It’s easy to lose sight of the impact our stories; tools and approaches can have on different audiences who welcome practical and empowering messages.

We can change our understanding of the world, one conversation at a time. We can make an impact in the world, one action at a time.

Happy International Women’s Day!
