Now, how are you really feeling?
This well-being initiative is a commendable effort to solve long-standing issues and challenges that apply not only to lawyers, but to other high-pressure professions.
Too many of us are burning the proverbial candle at both ends. Until we explore ways to navigate the tough roads together, it can be a lonely and tedious journey to find your way to an empowered self on your own. As you well know, it’s easy to be drawn back to a comfort zone that doesn’t necessitate the effort that change, and transformation requires.
Some attorneys face serious challenges maintaining mental and emotional balance. They are using alcohol and drugs as a crutch and are silently pleading for help.
And, although helpful toolkits, worksheets and online programs have been created to address the issues, I believe it will require more.
Through my work with professional women, who often find themselves stressed, stuck or exhausted, we realize it takes more than another ‘thing’ to read or even do. We need each other’s input and support.
They find tremendous benefit from a small, trusted gathering of like-minded women who can walk this walk with them.
Together makes finding where we want to be or what we have to overcome much easier and more engaging too.
